Ka’ana Resort
Ka’ana Resort
There are only 17 rooms divided into five different room categories at this luxury boutique resort. Every room category comes with luxurious bedding and linens, plasma flat screen TV, iPod docking station, mini bar, A/C, ceiling fan, plush robes, hair dryer, Wi-Fi (although sometimes spotty given the location), phone, and safe. A continental breakfast is included and served daily in your room or at La Ceiba Restaurant. The five Balam (Mayan for jaguar) Suites are 300 sq. ft. hacienda-style rooms with queen bed and outdoor sitting area overlooking the pool or gardens. There are eight slightly larger, 400 sq. ft. Casita Suites offering one or two queen beds and have a private outdoor terrace and balcony with both garden and pool views. The two 700 sq. ft. Master Suites come with king bed and have both a front and back deck with an enclosed garden and private outdoor shower. For the ultimate luxury experience, the 1,250 sq. ft. One-Bedroom Private Pool Villa features personalized mini bar, personal butler, private plunge pool, outdoor shower, private dining options, outdoor terrace and gardens, and designated housekeeper. A 2,500 sq. ft. Two-Bedroom Private Pool Villa is available for two couples, friends, or families and features a king bed in the master bedroom and the option of two twin beds or one king in the second bedroom. Plentiful natural light and warm, earthy undertones are tastefully balanced with locally constructed furniture and art pieces.
While there are plentiful adventure and historical experiences at Ka’ana’s doorstep, it’ll be hard to tear yourself away from the numerous indulgences and amenities on the hotel’s property. The infinity pool is sure to capture you for at least a half-day. Make sure to order one (or a couple) of the many unique artisanal cocktails and classic favorites prepared with fresh organic herbs and produce at The Wallace Bar and Lounge. The Spa at Ka’ana also incorporates ingredients sourced from the on-property organic garden into specialty treatments. Organic ingredients from the garden are used to create delicious new spins on local Belizean cuisine and classic, international dishes. Make sure to pair your lobster, pasta, or pizza with a bottle of wine from Ka’ana’s Wine Cellar, the largest wine selection in Western Belize. Finally, if you’re fortunate enough to have an open Saturday morning while at Ka’ana, ask for a transfer into town to explore the bustling San Ignacio market.
