There are only 16 cottages divided between three different categories – Suites, Riverside Suites, and Private Villas and Master Suites. Every cottage comes with upscale amenities such as private outdoor whirlpool, luxurious sheets, cloud-top mattress, and deck with traditional rocking chairs for your evening glass of wine. Standard amenities include safe, hairdryer, snack bar, and electric heaters for cooler nights in the cloud forest. Wi-Fi is available in the main lodge/restaurant areas. An a la carte breakfast is included with your stay as well as a traditional afternoon “cafecito” consisting of hot chocolate or coffee and pastries.
El Silencio Lodge and Spa sits on 500-acres of cloud forest full of rivers, waterfalls, and hiking trails for a plethora of scenic, cultural and adventure experiences. A guided tour called Mystic Hiking (included with your stay) introduces guests to the magic of the cloud forest. Local guides used solely by El Silencio offer various cultural immersion activities and guided nature/adventure tours in and around the property. The dining at Las Ventanas and Hierbabuena Restaurants is a special treat as it’s surrounded by panoramic windows of the cloud forest hillside. Intricate, delicious dishes are created with a farm-to-table concept using fresh produce, herbs, free-range eggs (from their own chicken coop), and fresh trout from the pond in their organic mini-farm. Esencia Spa also utilizes fresh ingredients from the organic mini-farm for delightful spa treatments – massages, facials, and wraps. An open-air yoga deck and a conical room are also available for private, pre-arranged sessions.
