1. Day 1

   Fly into Belize Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE). Outside the airport you’ll find your private driver who will be holding a sign with our logo and your name on it.  They will then assist with your luggage and drive you from Belize City to Belmopan.  Feel free to stop at anytime during your private ground transfer for photo opportunities, restrooms, lunch, or to simply stretch your legs.  If you’ve arrived around mid-day or earlier, make this private transfer a tour transfer to experience The Belize Zoo. Hand feed a tapir or “High five” a jaguar while learning about Belize’s native species and the zoo’s conservation efforts.  Continue your journey to your romantic retreat just south of Belmopan at Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge.  This luxury boutique hotel sits just outside The Blue Hole National Park and alongside the Sibun River.  With front row access to thousands of acres of rainforest and stunning views of the Maya Mountains, it’s the perfect place to enjoy Belize’s natural beauty.  Tonight, enjoy a gourmet dinner in the main palapa and stargaze from your room’s private plunge pool or jacuzzi.

2. Day 2

   Wake up from a restful night’s sleep and enjoy breakfast in the main palapa.  Today, choose between a day of adventure or a more laid-back day of nature and scenery viewing.  For adventure activities, choose between the Black Hole Drop, waterfall cave expedition with rappelling, ziplining, or cave tubing.  More laid back tours include Sibun River kayaking, St. Herman’s Cave expedition, sunrise birdwatching, or a visit to nearby botanical gardens.  Return to Sleeping Giant for a couple’s spa treatment surrounded by lush foliage and the sounds of a soothing creek.

3. Day 3

   Enjoy a day of rest and relaxation around the property.  Hike to The Gazebo for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and then cool off from your hike with a swim in the pool.  For more privacy, return to the plunge pool or jacuzzi in your suite.  If you’re up for another day of adventure, head to Western Belize for a full day tour to climb ancient Mayan ruins, including Xunantunich and Cahal Pech.

4. Day 4

   After a delightful breakfast, head to Dangriga for your domestic flight to Ambergris Caye.  Stop at the famous Marie Sharp’s factory outside of Dangriga to tour the factory and purchase souvenir hot sauces and jellies.  Upon your arrival to Ambergris Caye you’ll be greeted by a host from Matachica Resort & Spa.  Check into your thatched roof bungalow and enjoy a cold drink by the infinity pool or outdoor jacuzzi.  Enjoy a gourmet dinner at the hotel’s Mambo Restaurant, one of the island’s top restaurants.

5. Day 5

   Enjoy a tropical breakfast before a morning of snorkeling or diving crystal clear Caribbean waters.  Snorkelers can spend the morning at Hol Chan Marine Reserve for some of the best snorkeling in the Caribbean.  Afterwards, snorkel alongside a sea of sharks at Shark Ray Alley.  Divers will enjoy easy access to over 40 named sites within 15 minutes of Ambergris Caye.  Other great ways to enjoy the turquoise Caribbean waters include parasailing, jet skiing, and windsurfing.  Matachica Resort offers complimentary pedal boats, kayaks, fishing gear, and snorkel gear to use right from their beach or pier.

6. Day 6

   Enjoy a day of complete rest and relaxation.  Splurge on a tropical spa treatment in the Jade Spa (try the papaya facial or cacao scrub), order drinks and lunch poolside, and swim in the turquoise Caribbean waters.  Bike into town in the afternoon to explore shops and beach bars or request transport into town for a romantic dinner at a local restaurant.

7. Day 7

   Today you’ll fly from Ambergris Caye down to Punta Gorda for your final stay at the luxurious Belcampo eco-retreat.  This secret gem is located on 15,000-acres divided between a 12,000-acre nature reserve and a 3,000-acre organic farm.  70% or more of Belcampo’s menu come from ingredients sourced directly from their organic farm, allowing them to create an exquisite farm-to-table dining experience with some of the best food in Belize.

8. Day 8

   Watch the sunrise from the wraparound observation deck with a cup of coffee while a number of birds greet you – parrots, trogons, hummingbirds, parakeets, flycatchers, tanagers, toucans, woodpeckers, honeycreepers and more.  After a delicious and hearty meal, enjoy a full day of adventure.  Whether it’s foraging the rainforest to learn how to survive off the jungle, exploring nearby Mayan ruins such as Lubaantun and Nim Li Punit, exploring local markets and spice farms, fly fishing, or (our favorite) snorkeling with the chef in the Gulf of Honduras in search of conch, lobster, crab, and lionfish.  Return to Belcampo in the afternoon for happy hour drinks by the pool or splurge on a tropical spa treatment in the Jungle Spa.

9. Day 9

   Enjoy your last full day in Belize at Belcampo.  Tour the organic farm to learn about Belcampo’s sustainable efforts while also taking part in various workshops such as coffee, chocolate, and rum (samples included!).  If you haven’t already, splurge on a spa treatment and relax by the pool in the shade of palm trees.  Enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner under a sky full of stars and return to your suite to soak in the private 2-person bath on your balcony.

10. Day 10

    Take a 50- minute domestic flight back to Belize City for your international flight home.
