Day 1
Fly into Belize Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE). Outside the airport you’ll find your private driver who will be holding a sign with our logo and your name on it. They will then assist with your luggage and drive you from Belize City to San Ignacio. Feel free to stop at anytime during your private ground transfer for photo opportunities, restrooms, lunch, or to simply stretch your legs. If you’ve arrived early enough in the day, make this private transfer a tour transfer to experience cave tubing, the Belize Zoo, and/or a canopy zip-line in route to San Ignacio. As you near the final stretch of your transfer, you’ll pass through the town of San Ignacio, small farms, fruit orchards, and alongside the Macal River until you reach your 242-acre eco-retreat, Black Rock Lodge. Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink while you take in the impressive, towering views of Black Rock Canyon and the Macal River below.
-
Day 2
For those interested in an opportunity to see both common and rare bird species, wake up to an early morning guided birdwatching hike before breakfast (nearly 400 species of resident and migratory birds on Black Rock Lodge’s property). Fuel up with a fresh, a la carte breakfast including hand-squeezed fruit juices, homemade bread, organically grown fruits, and other locally sourced produce. After breakfast, choose between a number of different Mayan ruin sites to explore, from the various cave systems including the popular ATM cave to the largest Mayan ruin site in Belize, Caracol. If you prefer to stay within the vicinity of San Ignacio, head to the ancient Mayan city of Xunantunich with the option to add on a visit to the local market or do a chocolate tour. Head back to Black Rock Lodge in the afternoon and cool off in the Macal River as you tube down some fun rapids in front of the hotel!
-
Day 3
Visit another Mayan site today or stick around Black Rock Lodge and enjoy the various on site activities. There are hiking trails of varying difficulty levels that lead to scenic lookout points and picturesque waterfalls. The Macal River offers guests the opportunity to river tube and kayak while keeping a watchful eye out for wildlife. Enjoy a delicious family-style dinner with fellow guests and new friends.
-
Day 4
Today you’ll make your way from Western Belize to the Caribbean Coast. Spice up your private ground transfer with a tour activity in route. Choose between cave tubing, zip-lining, or rappelling. Continue onwards to the small beach town of Placencia for your beachfront stay just outside of town at Chabil Mar. Enjoy dinner this evening at Chabil Mar’s open-air restaurant, Cafe Mar Beachside Restaurant.
-
Day 5
se the day to relax around Chabil Mar. Have a drink at the pool, snorkel from the pier, or swing from your hammock as Caribbean breezes lure you into a slumber. In the evening, take the complimentary shuttle into town for dinner. Save room for dessert at the famous Tutti Frutti gelato shop.
-
Day 6
Make sure to spend at least one day on the water snorkeling or diving. Nearby sites at Laughing Bird Caye or the picturesque Silk Caye offer wonderful marine viewing opportunities. Plus, your lunch break is on a white, powdery sand island surrounded by various shades of vibrant blue water. Divers visiting Belize in April – June should head to Gladden Spit in search of the majestic whale shark.
-
Day 7
Enjoy your last full day in Belize on land or in the Caribbean Sea. A number of land based activities are available – horseback riding, rainforest hikes, chocolate tour, banana tour, ziplining, river tubing, Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, and more Mayan ruins.
