  1. Day 1

Fly into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) where one of our local airport representatives will meet you before immigration holding a sign with your name on it.  Outside the airport your private transfer will be waiting to help you with your luggage.  Drive 90-minutes outside of San Jose and up into the cloud forest where you’ll check into El Silencio Lodge and Spa.  Situated on 500-acres of cloud forest, this intimate eco-boutique resort naturally combines the harmony of nature with upscale comfort and a delicious culinary experience.  For dinner this evening, enjoy a farm-to-table meal with panoramic mountain views at Las Ventanas Restaurant.

  2. Day 2

Fuel up for a day of outdoor exploring around the property with a hearty, traditional Costa Rican breakfast of gallo pinto, organic coffee, and fresh fruit.  Walk along the Hummingbird Trail and other cloud forest trails on the complimentary Mystic Hike walk.  Offset your carbon footprint by planting a tree during a complimentary ceremony.  Refuel on a Riverside Lunch before a Coffee Journey to learn about the coffee brewing process while sampling different highland brews.  Pick your own produce for the Cook like a Costa Rican activity where you’ll cook a traditional dish of choice.  Unwind after a full day of adventure with a wine tasting session with two white and two red wines.

  3. Day 3

Enjoy a faster pace day in the Adventure Park on site where you can choose between horseback riding, zip-lining, or waterfall rappelling.  Or go off site to explore the nearby region with one of the various experiences ranging from moderate-to-challenging waterfall hikes to chocolate making or visiting Arenal’s famous volcano and hot springs.  Savor a homemade pastry with a warm cup of Costa Rican coffee during daily afternoon “cafecitos” and an evening glass of wine in your private outdoor whirlpool.

  4. Day 4

Early risers at El Silencio Lodge & Spa will have the privilege of spotting numerous birds, including the seasonal quetzal, during the Daybreak Birdwatching guided walk, great for newbies and enthusiasts alike.  After a fresh breakfast, you’ll continue onwards to the Pacific Coast via ground transfer.  Make sure to ask your driver to stop along the way for photo opportunities, lunch, or to simply stretch your legs.  Perched on the hillside with an expansive view of the Pacific Ocean, you’ll check into your suite at the oceanfront Punta Islita.

  5. Day 5

With 300-acres of tropical dry forest along the shores of the Nicoya Peninsula, there is no shortage of things to do!  With Punta Islita’s Authentic Costa Rica program, all your activities (up to four per day!) are included with your stay.  Choose from a number of activities ranging from eco-adventures, wildlife discovery, culture & art, wellness & sport, and food & mixology.

  6. Day 6

With the limitless Authentic Costa Rica Experiences you can start the day with a yoga session, followed by a mid-day canopy zip-line, and top it off with a cooking or mixology class!

  7. Day 7

Sometimes one of the best vacation activities is simply doing nothing at all!  Enjoy your last full day in paradise on the beach, in the infinity pool or beachside pool, on the golf course, or in the spa!
