Front Row Costa Rica

Front Row Costa Rica: This package takes you to hotels with privileged locations and views in two of Costa Rica’s must see regions – Arenal and Guanacaste.  Your stay at Arenal is within an oasis of luxury located on 120-acres of primary rainforest with volcano views.  Two on site trails, a one hour and two hour loop, allow you to easily explore self-guided or guided nature and birding hikes when you’re not out doing one of Arenal’s many adventure tours!  A whitewater rafting or safari float trip takes you from Arenal to a beachfront retreat just outside the happening beach town of Tamarindo.  Dine with monkeys and sloths at the hotel’s beachfront restaurant, catch a wave on a beginner surf break in front of the hotel, and then head into town to explore delicious dining options.  Don’t forget to test out both hotels’ pampering spas for a rainforest treatment or a sea breeze massage on the beach!

  1. Day 1

Fly into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) or Liberia International Airport (LIR).  Your private transfer and driver will be waiting outside the airport holding a sign with your name on it.  Enjoy the scenic drive to Arenal Volcano and feel free to stop along the way to eat lunch/dinner, take photos, or simply stretch your legs.  Check into Lost Iguana, your jungle oasis located on 120-acres of primary rainforest with Arenal Volcano views.  Enjoy dinner at Blue Hibiscus Restaurant at Lost Iguana before a guided night hike on the property.

  2. Day 2

Wake up with the birds and enjoy a fresh, delicious breakfast and cup of Costa Rican coffee before your nature hike along the hanging bridges.  An earlier morning guided walk along the hanging bridges will increase your odds of seeing more wildlife.  Return to your hotel for lunch and then head back out to nearby thermal hot springs in the evening for a therapeutic, mineral soak.

  3. Day 3

A one hour’s journey north will lead you to the mystical turquoise waters of Rio Celeste.  Hike along the meandering river and down to the picturesque waterfall.  Continue down the trail, and you’ll find natural hot springs arising from the riverbed.  Enjoy a typical Costa Rican lunch before heading back to Lost Iguana.  In the afternoon head to the pampering Golden Gecko Spa or stretch out after a day of hiking in the yoga pavilion.

  4. Day 4

Two trails on the property at Lost Iguana, a one and two-hour loop, are perfect early-morning birding opportunities.  Go with a guide for a trained eye or enjoy a morning hike on your own.  After breakfast you’ll transfer to the sunshine province, Guanacaste, for some beach time!  Turn this simple ground transfer into an adventure tour transfer with either a whitewater rafting trip or a safari float.  Lunch is included with the tour transfer and you’ll arrive to Capitan Suizo just around sunset.  With its beachfront location just outside Tamarindo, you’ll fall asleep to the sound of waves lapping ashore and awaken to birds and monkeys in the surrounding trees.

  5. Day 5

Choose from a number of Costa Rican or international breakfast dishes in the open-air restaurant adjacent to the pool and in front of the beach.  Make today a beach day.  Grab a boogie board or surf board and have fun in the wave breaks directly in front of the hotel, perfect for beginning surfers.  Indulge in a sea breeze massage located directly on the beach or nap on a hammock under palm trees.

  6. Day 6

Soar to new heights on one of Costa Rica’s longest zip-lines with stunning Pacific Ocean views.  For those that prefer to keep their feet closer to the ground (or sea), enjoy a half day catamaran sail with snorkeling or scuba diving Las Catalinas Islands.  In the evening, explore local restaurants and beach bars in Tamarindo, a short walk or taxi ride from Capitan Suizo.

  7. Day 7

Enjoy your last full day in Costa Rica by the pool and on the beach.  Catch your final sunset from Capitan Suizo’s beach bar that opens daily just in time for the vibrant show.
