With so much to do on the property, you may never leave, but we do recommend at least a day of exploration around the Arenal region. After your time in the rainforest at Arenal Volcano, head to the sunshine province of Guanacaste for your private residence retreat in the newer town of Las Catalinas. Beachfront amenities and attentive service will have you feeling at home alongside the calm blue waters of Playa Danta. Spend your time at the beach club pool or playing in the waves with paddleboards or kayaks. Hike or mountain bike singletrack trails up to various ocean view lookout points or opt for a horseback ride up to see these panoramic views.

Day 1
Fly into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) where one of our local airport representatives will meet you before immigration holding a sign with your name on it. They will guide you through an expedited immigration process and to baggage claim. Outside the airport you’ll find your private transfer that will be waiting to help you with your luggage. Drive three hours to Arenal Volcano and check into The Springs Resort and Spa, a luxurious, 5-star resort located on a 165-acre ridge overlooking the surrounding rainforest and volcano. With eleven spring-fed pools and eight chlorinated pools, you’ll want to dive (or soak) right in after checking into your room.

Day 2
Enjoy your first full day in Costa Rica exploring Club Rio at The Springs Resort! Head down to the river bank where you’ll find an outdoor adventure centre with something for everyone. You can river tube, kayak, rock climb and rappel, horseback ride or hike along nature trails, freshwater fish, mountain bike, and watch animal feedings in the wildlife preserve for rescued animals. When you’re not down by the river at Club Rio, enjoy the thermal hot springs or a spa treatment in the 14,000 sq.ft. full-service spa. For children (or inner child in the adults) The Game Room is stocked full of the latest video game consoles, board games, table tennis, foosball, and more.

Day 3
Head off the hotel property for an adventure or scenic tour activity around Arenal. Enjoy a guided nature walk over the hanging bridges and then a hike and swim at Fortuna Waterfall. Sweeten up the Fortuna Waterfall tour with a chocolate tour (samples included!).

Day 4
Make your way over to the sunny Guanacaste shore via a private ground transfer or on one of the tour transfers – whitewater rafting or a safari float. Lunch is included during the full-day tour transfer with an arrival around sunset. Check into your flat or villa at Las Catalinas and enjoy the evening in the comfort of your own, private residence.

Day 5
In the morning your “host mom” will arrive to your residence and prepare breakfast right in your kitchen. After breakfast, the host mom will tidy up the space and help answer any questions you may have. While your host mom is cleaning, head to the beach or the beach club for some water time. Spend the day playing in the ocean’s waves or in the pool under blue skies and sunshine.

Day 6
Make today an adventure day! Within a short drive of Las Catalinas you’ll find whitewater rafting, sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, canopy zip-lining, riding ATVs and more.

Day 7
Enjoy your last full day relaxing on the beach! Rent paddleboards or kayaks to explore the Playa Danta bay or work up a sweat mountain biking or hiking up to Punta Penca for a stunning panoramic view.

Day 2
Take a private ground transfer to Liberia (LIR) for your international flight home.
