DAY 1:

Fly into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) where one of our local airport representatives will meet you before immigration holding a sign with your name on it. They will guide you through an expedited immigration process and to baggage claim. Outside the airport you’ll find your private transfer that will be waiting to help you with your luggage. Drive three hours to La Fortuna where you’ll check into Mountain Paradise at the base of Arenal Volcano. Enjoy volcano views from the jacuzzi on your balcony/terrace or from the free-form pool with swim-up bar.

DAY 2:

An early start on a scenic nature tour will increase your odds of seeing wildlife. It’s not as hot in the mornings and, therefore, the animals tend to be more active as opposed to midday. A guided nature hike over hanging bridges, a safari float down Penas Blanca, or a boat trip down Cano Negro are all great nature tour options. Return to Mountain Paradise to enjoy a cold beverage in the pool after a day of nature viewing. Head into La Fortuna for dinner at one of many local or international restaurants.

DAY 3:

Today is your day for adventure! Fly from tree platform to tree platform on a canopy zip-line! Afterwards, slow down the pace as you soak in thermal hot springs.

DAY 4:

Enjoy a full day of adventure as you whitewater raft between Arenal and Manuel Antonio on class II-III rapids. Have lunch in route and finish the drive with a shared ground transfer to Manuel Antonio. You’ll arrive just around sunset to check into The Falls. Tonight, have dinner at The Falls Garden Café, rated as one of the best in Manuel Antonio.

DAY 5:

Spend your first full day in Manuel Antonio on a guided nature walk through the national park. Make it an early morning walk when temperatures are cooler. When the nature walk has concluded spend the rest of the afternoon on the beach inside the park. Relax on the picturesque shores inside Manuel Antonio National Park but keep a watchful eye out for monkeys. They are mischievous and like to rummage your beach towel for snacks!

DAY 6:

Enjoy a free day in Manuel Antonio! Walk to nearby restaurants, shops, and cafes or head down to the main beach to play in the waves. Make sure to have dinner one evening at the delicious Cafe Milagro just a short walk from the hotel.

DAY 7:

Sail away on a half day catamaran trip with an opportunity to snorkel volcanic rock formations to see up to 40 different species of tropical fish. Keep an eye on the horizon for migrating whales (seasonal), dolphins, turtles and stingrays. Lunch, snacks, and drinks are included aboard the catamaran.

DAY 8:

Take a 30-minute domestic flight back to San Jose for your international flight home.
